How it works

1. Share your requirements. Tell us where, when, how many people and any pets or accessibility needs, with the search or the request form. Please don't include claim numbers or details of the loss.
2. Review homes and an itemized quote. We check each home's live calendar for your whole stay. An itemized estimate lists rent, fees and taxes, with the refundable security deposit hold shown on its own line.
3. Confirm authorization and terms. Confirm any approval you need from your insurer, then agree to the booking terms. Payment and contracting arrangements are confirmed for each booking.
4. Arrange move-in. First-time guests complete a quick ID and selfie check after booking, as part of our booking terms. We then send arrival details.

For adjusters and housing coordinators

• Ask for an itemized quote for one home or several. The online total is an estimate from our live booking engine. Long-stay pricing may be lower, so request a quote.
• Save homes to a shortlist, compare them side by side, and print a summary of the homes and their estimates.
• Payment is by card at booking, through the same checkout and payment schedule as any booking on this site. Payment and contracting arrangements are confirmed for each booking, and an insurer does not sign or guarantee anything unless the booking says so.
• We extend whenever the home's calendar is open. Ask early: another guest can book the dates after yours.

For homeowners

• We provide housing. We are not an insurer and we do not decide coverage. What your policy pays for is between you and your insurer.
• You can contact us directly. You don't need an adjuster to ask what is open or what a stay would cost. Call (813) 531-8988 or send the request form.
• Ask your insurer or adjuster what they need before you book, so you know what to keep and what to send them.

What is ALE, in plain English

Additional Living Expenses, or ALE, is a part of many homeowner and renter policies. Sometimes it is called loss of use. It may help with the extra cost of living somewhere else while a fire, water damage or another loss keeps you out of your home.

Whether you have it, what it covers, how much it pays, for how long, and what needs approval first all depend on your policy and your insurer. We can't tell you what your policy covers, and we don't decide it. Your adjuster or insurer can tell you what they need before you book.
